“The last thing we want is for one of our clients to have an adverse reaction to the ink,” Sabo said. Sabo, who has been tattooing for more than 15 years, said there just hasn’t been enough time to really see how the tattoo ink could react decades down the line. “When it first came out it was really difficult to obtain an MSDS and if we’re not 100 percent sure of a product we’re not going to use it,” said Avatar tattoo artist Chris Sabo. Obtaining proper documentation such as Material Safety Data Sheets and the recent development of the product were just some of the reasons the shop veered away.
